Jerry Standridge - Class of 1967
Graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1971. Joined the Air Force after graduation and attended the University of Texas in Austin for a couple of years. Spent the next 22 years enjoying saying “Yes Sir” a lot and was a computer geek most of my AF career. Had time enough to move to 11 different places and produce three lovely, little girls. The most enjoyable tour was in Mons, Belgium where I got divorced and saw a lot of Europe. Notice I didn’t say which was more enjoyable. My last AF assignment was at the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia. Fell in love with one of the natives (my current wife, Linda) and got married and retired in 1993 in far east Texas (that’s what I call Virginia Beach, VA since I had said I’d never leave Texas). Spent a couple of years in Schertz taking care of my dad before he finally moved back to Virginia Beach with us. Linda (my current wife) and I are both still working since we have five girls (my three girls, Paige, Tara, Jori and her two, Stacie and Tricia) and all of them are still providing plenty of enjoyment and entertainment in our lives. Paige and Dan have Kendall and Dawson. Tara and Justin have Jayden and Preston. Jori and Jason have Cade. Stacie and Rick have Cohen and finally, Tricia has Roxy, a Boston Terrier. Linda (did I mention she’s my current wife?) and I like to play golf and spend time with the rather scattered family when ever we can. We also still like to go two-steppin’ (picked that ability up while I was in Belgium…go figure) and also West Coast swing dancing a couple of times a week. Future plans call for us enjoying as much as we can for as long as we can.
