CLASS OF 1949


Lillian (Anderegg) Gainey
Husband: Hurshel Gainey (deceased)

Attended Draughon’s Business College. Married Hurshell Gainey in 1951. Am a widow after 51 years of marriage. We have 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Traveled in Europe while stationed in France and lived in Panama 3 years. Retired from Civil Service 1994 and have traveled to Europe again since then. Spend lots of time visiting children and grandchildren in Kentucky, North Carolina and Florida.

Jane (Collins) Dye
Husband: Bruce Dye

Married October 7, 1949 at Randolph AFB, Chapel One. Overseas assignments: Crete, 1960; Japan, 1965. Raised 1 son, David (graduated 1969 SCHS); daughter, Barbara (graduated 1972 SCHS); daughter, Pegi (graduated 1974 SCHS); husband, Bruce of 21 years. Civil Service 23 years. Retired 1967 and we returned to Universal City. Now we have 3 grandchildren and 2 (in November) great grandchildren. Bruce is still working part-time for Hertz to relieve boredom! My mother, Aline Collins taught at SCHS, retired in 1972, is 94 years old.

Rosemarie Ackermann
Husband: Malford Ackermann (1946)

We have been married over 55 years. We reared five children-all graduated from SCUC ISD. We’ve been involved with farming/ranching plus Malford was County Commissioner in Guadalupe County for 8 years. Except for commissioner, we’ve worked as a team and are still ranching.
