CLASS OF 1955



Luellen (Lou) Knight Husband: Edwin M. Knight III

Married in 1956 – still with the same guy after 48 years! I’m a professional homemaker. We have two grown daughters and five grandchildren. We’ve lived in TX, Germany, Virginia, and Hawaii – lots of traveling.

Arlon A. Mueller
Wife: Jan Mueller

Career in electric motor repair and served in the U.S. Army semi-retiring in April, 1998. Married in 1962 and have 3 children. Jan worked at USAA and took early retirement after 29 years. Karen and Mark currently work at USAA. Karen has one son, Chris. Mark has 2 daughters, Miranda and Melanie. Curtis, our oldest son is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the University of Heidelberg in Germany. He completed his military time and currently works for the Pepsi Bottling Company in Portland, Oregon.

Barbara (Edmonson) Lindell
Husband: Richard Lindell

Married on October 8, 1955 and have 4 children. Richard retired from the Air Force. Went to school and earned a degree as an R.N. We keep in touch many of our classmates. We moved back to Schertz from Canyon Lake in 1999.

Geraldine (Gerry) (Seiler) Wylie
Husband: Larry Wylie

Married Larry Wylie a former elementary teacher at SCHS. One child Nick and 3 grandchildren. Lived in Boulder, Co. for 42 years. Recently moved to Clayton, Georgia in the northeast Georgia mountains. Retired from Boulder Valley School District in 1993.

Betty (Achterberg) Kating
Husband: Kenneth Kating

My husband and I are both retired. We have five children (all girls) and nine grandchildren. We live on a farm 4 miles north of Freeburg, Missouri. We are located between Fort Leonardwood and Jefferson City, the state capitol.
Betty (Gesche) Kreutler

After my husband retired, we have lived her in Schertz for 32 years. We have 4 children. Two live in the area and two out of state. I am proud to be a "local" person in a very fast growing community with two large high schools. Wow!

Donald L. DeVore
Wife: Marguerite Devore

Married 24 years. Owner of Logistics Company, Indianapolis, IN. Was in Illinois National Guard – Outstanding Soldier of the year. Graduate of Northwestern, Chicago, Ill. Still flying airplanes. Hobbies are vintage Cushman motorscooters 33 Mason. Love Indian and war history. Do not race motorcycles professionally anymore, but still ride for pleasure.

Dorothy (Orth) Dillow
Husband: Marvin Dillow

After graduation from high school, I went to work for the Federal government at Randolph AFB and over the years also worked at Harlingen AFB and Lackland AFB, TX. I retired after 25 years with the government and then drove a school bus for 11 years for the SCUC ISD. I retired in 1992. I married Jerome Seiler in 1956 and had a beautiful daughter, Cheryl Jean, who later gave us a wonderful granddaughter. The marriage dissolved and later married Marvin in 1976-a native of West Virginia. Marvin has 2 children and 2 grandchildren. In 1992 we moved to West Virginia to take care of Marvin’s aging parents. We have traveled to Hawaii, Canada, New York City, Massachusetts, Niagara Falls, Lake Erie, Mexico and to a variety of interesting places in Texas, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Tennessee, Missouri, California and hope to visit many more states in the near future. Some of my hobbies over the years have been painting, needle point, embroidering, and crocheting. Most every year I enter some of my crafts in the Buckwheat Festival Exhibits in Kingwood, WV and have won numerous blue ribbons. I also played the church organ for many years which I thoroughly enjoyed.
