We had three children, two boys and one girl. Jim retired and went into the Border Patrol and then the U.S. Customs Service until 1988 when he retired again and we sold our house in Austin and traveled in an R.V. for several yeas until Jim was diagnosed with cancer. He passed away in 1993. I went back to adult high school in 1973 in San Diego, CA and graduated in May of "74. I took some college classes until our move to Austin. I worked in a hardware store and managed it for about 6 years until we started traveling. Upon Jim’s illness I returned to work again in Universal City at Sippel’s Hardware while taking night classes at Texas Lutheran University. In 1995 I bought a house in Schertz where I still reside. I worked in New Braunfels for a year and then returned to U.S. at Acme Lumber where I recently retired. I was diagnosed with emphysema in 1994 and recently had to start using oxygen full time. I met a wonderful widower four years ago and we are now living together very happily. Due to Air Force benefits I cannot remarry without losing them so this is the only way we can manage our relationship together.
